My Great Grandfather Calixto Madera was born in 1853 in Huejuquilla El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico.
But in the civil records of marriages of 1880. His signatures appears many times when couples would get married. Here clearly is his signature and a stamp next to his name of "Gobierno Politico De Huejuquilla." Which means he did have a Government function at Huejuquilla. It is possible he was the Mayor of Huejuquilla but in the list of mayors of Huejuquilla several years are missing 1862 - 1895.
