Finally backed into the 1600's.

By lunalatina1955 | 11:50 PM MST, Tue September 29, 2015

Almost my entire mother's family comes from Tlaltenango and surrounding areas. Today, I finally found one line that led me to the 1600's: Magdalena Robles Merino b: 1652 from Tlatenango marries a guy from Guanajuato: Nicolas Llamas de Leal b: 1647.

Like many of you, I have the surnames of Miramontes (have only been able to trace to early 1700's, Bobadilla, Gonzales, Luna, Herrera, Trejo, Robles, Pinto, etc...

When I figure out how to load up (using ancestry.com and MyHeritage), I would be excited to share for your perusal.

Llamas/Gonzalez

Hi Esperanza,
i'm looking forward to your updated information about Nicolas Llamas Leal and Magdalena Robles Merino. I descend from them thru their daughter Juana and Joseph Gonzalez. I've been unable to find any information about the latter couple, such as their marriage, ca ~1690.

Juana and Joseph's daughter Efigenia married my paternal Gonzalez ancestor (Alejo Gonzalez) in Tlaltenango 1722. In the marriage and marriage bann records, however, Alejo used "Covarrubias" as his last name for some reason.

How did you find out that Nicolas Llamas was from Guanajuato?

family from Tlaltenango

you will find many of the same surnames and families in the records of Jerez and Tepetongo too
but I don't know if you have used the Sagrada Mitra indexed on this site but it's a wonderful resource to since it gives you the names of the people in each record.
good luck in your search.
