i'm nt sure if this is in the right forum or not but i wanted to share this since someone from jerez, zacatecas, submitted something to that site. if i can figure out how he fits into my tree or erlinda's rootsweb tree at least, it could be quite a breakthrough

an interesting page i came

Hi Katy,

In the past, this has not been the right forum for a post of this kind. However, it is important to somehow share these posts among genealogists that are truly looking for the truth about their ancestors. I believe that I have discovered the parents of Toribio Hernandez Arellano and am working on finding more data to defend this find. If I am correct, then the idea that the French and Jewish ancestral fallacy that many of us heard growing up was not a fallacy after all as Toribio's paternal ancestral line descended from a Jew that I find living in Avignon France in the 1300's. I also have other lines through his mother coming from France but they are not jewish.

Bona Astruga,
Thanks for your post,
Rick A Ricci

PS. The Bona Astruga was the name of an ancestor that was living with her husband in Avignon. It means Good Fortune (http://www.s-gabriel.org/names/juetta/navarra.html)

yeah i wasn't sure which category to put this in but what caught my eye the most was the lopez luna part of his grandma's last name. i wonder if he's a descendent of bartolome lopez de luna in tlaltenango. if so, maybe that line is jewish also
