The two files I up-loaded are from the maternal side of my familia, the Olmos, Ruiz, Ruiz de Esparza, Alvares, Muños, Luevano families. To date most of them come from Nochistlan and surrounding rancherias with one branch of Esparza/Luevano coming from Pabellon Rincon de Romos Aguascalientes around 1820.

This is hard loving work that will keep me busy for years to come.

New files up-loaded

Dear Ranchos Members,

I also have with the help of Arturo up-loaded my husband's genealogy GEDCOM file to my Genealogy folder. Looking forward to linking with other Ranchos Members.

Last evening after sharing what I thought was a link with Maria Cortez, she answered my e-mail with "It's a Match." After only 3 days of being a Ranchos member, a new found "cousin." "How Sweet It Is! " Hoping that, that match will also include Alicia's ancestry.

Pat and Maria - New Family: New files up-loaded

not so quick. . .

. . .imagine this [can you hear all the other Rancho members saying,
"Here comes Joseph's little speech."] anyway never mind what they are
thinking. Imagine this: 200+ years ago your family and Maria Cortez'
family were really Tight! I mean they were blood relatives tight! I mean
they probably celebrated together and shared meals together and fought
together you know they were family and did all the loving and sometime
not so loving things that family does to each other. But still they were
family and blood family and loved each other like blood family does.
Anyway then along came "Something" I don't know a revolution, war,
migration, famine, any number of things could have happened and your
family and her family became separated. . .have you ever been lost from
another family member, well imagine that feeling on a permanent basis,
how terrible. But low and behold along comes Maria Cortez and then along
comes Pat Silva Corbera and they find each other again with maybe a
little push or help in there somehow from Deena Ortiz (who by the way is
a Nuestros Ranchos member as well). This is magnificient this is
wonderful this is the time for a party a fiesta its time to make a big
pot of menudo (I love menudo) and all the other delicious foods and time
to party down because for 200+ years you all were lost and for all
intents and purposes forgotten to each other but now you are Found. The
blood in you both must be rejoicing!

So with all that excitement I was hoping that the two of you could give
just a few more details of how EXACTLY you are relatives? I mean so it
so we can celebrate with you.

happy days. . . .many many congratulations!!!

joseph

ps: by the way Pat if you haven't already go to the albums and in the
folder with the Sacto meeting you should find a picture of your new prima.

pps: Maria is Pat also related to others in the Sacto group?

New files up-loaded

Just to clarify Patricia's message, she uploaded her GEDCOM to the GEDCOM database, so you can search her genealogy files by clicking the GEDCOM menu item at the top of the site.

You can simply enter a name or list individuals by surname by clicking on the "Surnames" menu option. If you want to see individuals only from her tree, you can simply use the pull-down menu and select her tree.

The most common surnames in her tree are as follows (you get a list just like this from the GEDCOM database):
1. Aguirre (13)
2. Perez (11)
3. Gonzalez (7)
4. Sandoval (7)
5. Losano (6)
6. Delgadillo (5)
7. [no surname] (4)
8. Andrade (4)
9. Chavez (4)
10. Rodriguez (4)
11. Velasco (4)
12. Garcia (3)
13. Plasencia (3)
14. Mercado (3)
15. Perez Sotelo (3)
16. Contreras (3)
17. Duran (3)
18. Ximenes (3)
19. Corona (2)
20. Lara (2)
21. Martel (2)
22. Torres (2)
23. Corbera (2)
24. Islas (2)
25. Aguayo (2)

Pat and Maria - New Family: New files up-loaded

Hi Joseph and Fellow Ranchos,

Pretty soon, members are going to be saying... not that Pat person again...;-).

This is what I shared with Maria Cortez after seeing a message that she added to the info e-mail on the Brentwood meeting:

Bernardino Gonzales de Islas m. Mariana Moscoso Sandoval 21 Apr 1631, Nochistlan, this couple is my husband's 8th Great Grandparents. Tino's line/s descends from two of their daughters. Petrona Isles and Mariana Isla Sandobal/Sandoval.
Petrona m. Diego Delgadillo parents of Mariana Delgadillo m. Francisco Flores de Medrano parents of Mariana Flores de Medrano m Nicolas Diaz Montanez parents of Maria Diaz Montanez m. Joseph Gonzalez Losano parents of Juana Josepha Gonzalez m. Nicolas Jose de Sandoval parents of Juan Manuel de Sandoval m. Maria Gertrudis Velasco parents of Maria Rosalia Sandoval m. Jose Norverto Perez Rodriguez parents of Maria Ynes Rodriguez m. Jose Gabriel Perez parents of Jose Victoriano Perez m. Maria Aniseta Aguirre parents of Jose Fernando Perez m. Maria Hilaria Andrade parents of Maria Refugio Perez (my husband's mother)...

This is what Maria wrote back:

We have a match! I descend from Petrona de Islas m. Diego Delgadillo. I have your husband's ancestress Mariana Delgadillo christened 23 Mar 1655 in Nochistlan, Zacatecas in my database. Mariana is the sister of my ancestress, Thomasa Delgadillo. Thomasa married Diego Juarez, they were the parents of Josepha Manuela Juarez. Josepha Manuela m. Nicolas Vazquez. They were the parents of Rosa Maria Vazquez (my 5th great-grandmother). I'll stop here and can run a descendacy report if you are interested and give you more details. I found a lot of my older data in Jose Luis Vazquez's book Genealogia de Nochistlan.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not too sure at this stage of our research the exact "kinship," Maria shares with my husband, but as soon as we get it all posted, we'll share it with the group.
Here's what PAF has from Maria's 5th ggmother to Tino...
Rosa Maria Vazquez and Florentino Corbera are 2nd cousins 8 times removed. Their common ancestors are Diego Delgadillo and Petrona Islas.
