Joseph, I was just reading the exchange between you and Arturo about the El Paso, Texas Border crossing records. In my husband's family "treasure chest of documents," we came across one for his paternal grandmother, Trinidad Serrano, dated Aug 19, 1927. The wonderful thing about this document is that it has a picture of Trinidad. For those list members that have never seen one, in a couple of days I'll scan the one I have, and place it on my "La Casita Corbera webpage." The cost of this alien head-tax was $8.00 representing head-tax assessed by the US Immigration Service Mexican Border District... It's signed by J. H. Lane, Bridge Collecter for the El Paso Electric Co. El Paso, Texas. Pat

Alien Head Tax: was- Momax and Colotlan

this is very interesting information about the Alien Head Tax. I just
sent off an email to the El Paso Electric company asking if they know
where these records might be archived (that is if they weren't destroyed),

That's great, anxious to see what they have to say. Maybe FHC filmed them... Pat
