I am doing research in Aguascalientes. One my maternal ancestors,Joseph Andres Alonso, was born 30 November 1771, and baptized on 15 Dec 1771 in Estanzuela. I am having difficulty transcribing the name of the church from his sacramental record. Is the name of the church, "Sr. San Miguel de los Altas (?)" Purifdiccion" (?Y de la Villa de Aguas Calientes.

I THINK IT IS SAN MIGUEL EL ALTO JALISCO THERE IS AND HAS BEEN FOR LONG LONG TIME A PLACE CALL ESTANZUELA I HAVE MANY RELATIVES FROM THERE IT IS IN THE NORTHERN PART IN THE BORDER LINE BETWEEN SAN MIGUEL EL ALTO AND SAN JUAN DE LOS LAGOS .

Yo creo que se trata del Puesto de San Miguel "de los Albas" , "Jurisdiccion" de la Villa de Aguascalientes. Se lo conocio como "El puesto de san Miguel" "San Miguel de los Alba"" "San Miguelito" està ubicado a unos 30 kilometros al sur de la ciudad de Aguascalientes, y hoy en dia pertenece al municipio de Encarnacion de Diaz. Antes de 1778 los registros de acramentos se encuentran en Aguascalientes, despues de 1778 en Encarnacion de Diaz.
Cerca de este San Miguel existe un lugar llamado La Estanzuela.
