Dear Sophia--

I find it very interesting to hear that you live in
Ottawa. I was born in British Columbia but left there
at the age of two and a half. All my paternal family
history, from the 1830's, is in Ontario, Canada. It
is my husband's side of the family that comes from
Jalisco, Michoacan, and Zacatecas. Do you have any
lines in Ontario? If you do, I can give you some good
websites that will assist in your research.

I am planning a trip to Santa Rita, Jalisco, at Easter
time. That small village is in the Ayotlan cabacera
which used to be called Ayo el Chico. We will be
seeing some of the relatives and will probably make
stops in the neighboring towns and villages of
Atotonilco el Alto and La Barca.
